La Crosse, WI — 10/28/2015 — Weber Center for the Performing Arts proudly honors Veterans Day by presenting Sarah Jane and The Blue Notes on November 10, 2015, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $19 each ($10 for veterans and active military).
Sarah Jane, with a lush, sultry voice in the tradition of a “red hot mama,” steps from St. Louis along with The Blue Notes to bring horn-infused swingin’ hot jazz and St. Louis blues from the 1920s to the 40s. Sarah Jane and The Blue Notes are one of the most festive dance bands in St. Louis. It’s a sound that seamlessly blends speakeasy, New Orleans dixieland, Harlem night club, juke joint, and big band swing with a touch of old-time blues.
Sarah Jane has been featured in Billie Holiday revues, torch song revues, The Great Ladies of Jazz Revue, and was a featured vocalist at Art Deco Weekend 2013, 2014 and 2015 in Miami Beach. They are a favorite among local festivals and have played the Old Webster Jazz and Blues Festival, the Whikater Music Festival, the Clayton Art Fair, the Benton Park Concert Series, the Glendale Jazz Festival, and The Maplewood Concert Series.
