Ivo van Hove (NT Live: A View from the Bridge\, Hedda Gabler) directs this new stage adaptation of Luchino Visconti’s 1943 film. \nGino is a drifter\, down-at-heel and magnetically handsome. In the vintage story of The Telephone\, Ben makes several attempts at Lucy’s apartment to interrupt her telephone conversations with her friends in order to propose to her.
